Dana Distributors Employee Recognized in National Spotlight Program - Ed Gillen Highlighted by National Beer Wholesalers Association

GOSHEN, N.Y. – New York beer distribution company Dana Distributors is pleased to announce that Ed Gillen has been recognized in the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) Employee Spotlight Program. Now a driver, Gillen has worked for the company for 41 years.

America’s more than 3,000 independent beer distribution facilities employ 135,000 men and women in communities across the country. The NBWA Employee Spotlight Program highlights standout beer distribution employees and showcases their achievements.

“It is often noted that many beer distribution companies are family-owned and -operated, and many of these businesses operate as an extended ‘family,’ with employees who have worked in the business for 5, 10, 15 years and more,” said NBWA President & CEO Craig Purser. “NBWA’s Employee Spotlight Program recognizes these standout employees who are the face of the American beer industry in their communities.”

Dana Distributors President Fred Dana said, “Ed Gillen doesn’t just deliver beer. Eddie builds customer relationships every day. He has been building relationships for 40 years!”

“He also helps train new drivers and is a trusted voice to ownership regarding safety in the workplace,” Dana added.

Dana said that Gillen has been delivering to the same area for several years now, and even the customers of the company’s retailer partners have been on the receiving end of Gillen’s kindness.

Dana recalled receiving an email from a resident in the community who had pulled over at a gas station in Monroe after their car’s tire light came on. Gillen was there unloading a delivery, and he volunteered to help by filling the tire.  There have been several of these types of calls over the years where Eddie has helped someone out above and beyond his normal call of duty.
